From Wavy to Curly? Is that possible with your curls?

Can Curls Change from Wavy to Curly?

Yes, that is possible!

van wavy naar curly

but recently saw it with our brand ambassador Merel from CurlySamples. She hadn't even noticed it until we sent her a photo from six months ago.

Ze immediately made a post about it and we share the info with you below!

voeding voor krullend haar is een gamechanger

"Wow!  In 1 year you can say that my hair has gone from wavy to curly! So your curl type can always change and improve."

These are my tips.

  • Find a good one curly hair stylist who can cut a beautiful round shape with connecting layers in your hair.  I have definitely had 3 different layers cut into my hair. Short hair does my curls so much better. It bounces more and has more volume.
  • Minimize heat and paintsI dye my hair a maximum of 2 times a year (previously 4 times). I blow-dry it on a warm setting, which gives it more definition.
  • Use CG Curls products.  I have been using the moisture line of CG Curls for half a year now. I am a huge fan of this complete line! I don't have to keep looking for new products. Sometimes I add protein drops to the Curl Cream on wash day. All products are CG proof!
  • Define your hairr with a brush when applying products on wash day. Section your hair so the product can reach everywhere.
  • Less = more.. Rather use more water than more product!
  • Be patient! Be kind to your hair and give it time.
  • You will learn to understand your hair better and better.

Fun fact: She told me that they no longer have any other products DARE to use, afraid that the result will be less....

Which factor is important to transform your curls?

Besides the great tips mentioned above, the most important thing is to have enough power supply in the products. Just like the human body, it performs better when you get good and sufficient nutrition.

A comparison: A French fry is nice every now and then, but if you feed yourself daily/regularly with these kinds of snacks, you will feel it in your body. And the same goes for hair products. If you use products that contain little or no nutrition, you will not see any improvement in your curl pattern in the long term.

And we can compare the fries (cheap, tasty but not good food) with hair products. Unfortunately, it is impossible to bring cheap products on the market that give sufficient nutrition to your curls. Nourishing ingredients are simply more expensive!

What ingredients should you look for in your curl products?

Hair products can contain a variety of ingredients that are nourishing to your hair. Here are some common ingredients that are known for their nourishing properties: Please note that these ingredients must be in the top 5-8 of the INCI.

  • Argan oil: Argan oil is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids. It hydrates and repairs damaged hair, makes it shiny and reduces frizz.
  • Coconut oil: Coconut oil has deep moisturizing properties and can repair dry, damaged hair and add shine.
  • Shea Butter: Shea Butter vnourishes the hair with vitamins A, E and F. Vitamins A and E help maintain the hair and keep it shiny and healthy. Vitamin F works against brittle and fragile hair and gives shine.
  • Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera gel is soothing to the scalp and moisturizes the hair, leaving it soft and shiny.
  • Jojoba oil: Jojoba oil is similar to the scalp's natural oils and can help balance sebum production, which can promote a healthy scalp and shiny hair.
  • Panthenol (vitamin B5): Panthenol has moisturizing properties and can help improve overall hair health
  • Vegetable oils (e.g. olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil): Vegetable oils contain fatty acids that can nourish and moisturize the hair
  • Proteins: Proteins can strengthen hair and help maintain its resilience.

It's important to note that the effectiveness of these ingredients may vary depending on your hair type and specific needs.

It's a good idea to choose hair products that are tailored to your hair type and any issues you're trying to address, such as dryness, damage, frizz, or an oily/itchy scalp.

Reading the ingredients list on hair products can help you make the right choices based on your needs.
