DO YOU FOLLOW THE CG METHOD ALREADY? READ ON QUICKLY, BECAUSE I'M HAPPY TO HELP YOU ON YOUR WAY.
Once you Google this term, a whole new world will open up for you! Wow, what is lots of informationYou will come across many rules, advice and tips on this subject.
This hair care method assumes that naturally curly hair can become more beautiful again by following certain rules. You eliminate certain ingredients from products such as sulphates, silicone and drying out alcoholsThese ingredients cause your curls to sag, dry out or become frizzy.
As soon as If you follow the CG Method, you will only use CG products and you will see a clear difference after a few weeks. Your hair will grow back to shine and your waves/curls become more visible.
BUT HOW DO YOU START?
STEP 1: Final wash
Do a final wash, you use a sulfate shampoo, this cleans your hair well and removes silicones and build-up from your hair. The shampoo must contain sulfates, but may not contain silicones or mineral oil. A suitable shampoo is that of Zwitsal or Kruidvat own brand Daily Mild Shampoo and use only once.
From now on you will only use CG-friendly products! Products without sulfates, silicones and drying alcohols.
STEP 2: CG friendly conditioner
After the final wash, apply a CG-friendly conditioner, one without silicones. Apply the product to wet hair in the points and keep a little away from your scalp, leave on for at least 5 minutes.
STEP 3: Comb and rinse
Once the conditioner has been absorbed, you can use your fingers or comb with wide teeth through your hair to remove tangles and loose hairs. Because your hair is still full of conditioner, you create no fluff. It is best not to comb your hair when it is dry, as this will disrupt the curl pattern, resulting in frizzy, undefined curls. Is your hair combed properly? Rinse out the conditioner. If your hair is very dry, try leaving a little conditioner in.
STEP 4: Drying
Turn off the shower and throw your hair forward and scrunch (squeeze) some water out with an upward motion. Optional in this step: squeeze some leave-in conditioner into your hair. To get even more water out of your hair, scrunch your hair with a towel in your hands. Use a microfiber cloth or a old t-shirt, but never a regular towel. This is too rough for your fragile wet curls. If you want to twist your hair now, plopping is a good method, but make sure your hair is still damp enough for the next step!
STEP 5: Apply styling products
Hopefully you will now see that your damp curls are in small bundles sitting together. This is a good sign, This will give you shiny and defined curls when your hair is dry.To keep your hair in this shape, now scrunch a CG-friendly styling product like a leave-in conditioner or cream into your damp curls. Start at the ends and work your way up, keep some distance from the scalp. Make sure your hair is moist enough and each strand is provided with a thin layer of product, less = more! Start with about a one-euro coin sized amount. After applying the leave-in conditioner, style your curls with a layer of gelThis ensures frizz-free curls and gives a hard layer around your hair.
STEP 6: Blow-dry with diffuser or air-dry
Depending on your preference and the amount of time you have, you can blow dry or to the let air dry. If you let it air dry, do not touch your hair until it is completely dry. Move once with your head from right to left so that the hair does not lie flat on your scalp. When you blow-dry your hair, always do this with a diffuserThe heat helps to form your curls and provides volume. Always blow-dry the roots of your hair first and then the curls, this ensures less frizz.
STEP 7: Scrunch!
Hopefully your hair is now dry and the gel has provided for hard layer to your hair. Don't be alarmed, this is the intention! You can now scrunch out this hard layer. Throw your hair forward and scrunch your hair until the curls become soft and tadaaa! A beautiful curly hair without frizz.
